Something about Me

I am Varun Taware.
I am from India; yes the country which has moved on from the days of elephants and snake charmers to become the leading IT destination and to foray into space exploration.

I am a Babson MBA with focus on Marketing and Strategy in Hi-Tech enterprises.
I aspire to work towards driving research and innovation to the market.
Babson is world’s leading school for entrepreneurial management education. I vouch for Babson's strong focus on leadership, creativity and innovation within its student community.

I have done my Bachelors (B.E.) in Computer Engineering and now, at Babson, I have understood well why my managers at Patni Computers Systems Ltd. made me work like they did and how did they manage to provide me my bread and butter!

What is buzzing in my mind?
- "...the person who loves everybody and feels at home everywhere is the true hater of mankind. He expects nothing of men, so no form of depravity can outrage him"— Ayn Rand

What is luring me?
- Casino royale: From fiction  to reality. Read it here.

What is hurting me?
- "Kin" was Microsoft's first attempt to compete with iPhone and Droid and it did not last beyond 6 weeks. So much for a product from a hi-tech leader! And now MSFT makes 5x more revenue from Android patent fee than from Windows Phone 7 sales.

What am I curious to know?
- How do military men become good a decision makers as managers when they are trained to not to question orders or reason its appropriateness. They are trained to "just do it". I am curious to know how far do they go with critical reasoning before they make decisions as managers.
